Box Profile and Corrugated sheets are the same price.

They are available in the same material options, just made on a different machine.

There are several different box profiles. This is the one we do:

Box Profile Overlap

  1. Side Lap:

This is where one sheet overlaps the next sheet along its length (across the width of the roof).

  • Box profile sheets have one overlap rib (slightly narrower).
  • There is one underlap rib (slightly wider with a flange to sit on the purlin)
  • There is only a one rib overlap.
  • Stitcher screws are used to secure the sheets together.
  • On lower roof pitches, a lap tape may be added for extra weather protection.
  1. End Lap

This is required when the roof slope is longer than a single sheet length.

  • One sheet overlaps the sheet below it vertically (from ridge down to eaves).
  • Typical end lap:
    • 150mm–200mm for steeper pitches
    • 200mm–250mm+ for lower pitches
  • Lap tape is recommended between laps.

Corrugated Overlap

Corri sheet
  1. Side Overlap (Across the Roof)

This is where one sheet overlaps the next sheet horizontally.

  • Standard practice is one full corrugation overlap.
  • In more exposed or windy locations, one and a half corrugations may be recommended.
  • The overlap should face away from the prevailing wind to reduce the risk of wind-driven rain.
  • Use stitcher screws at regular centres along the lap (typically every second corrugation or as specified).
  • For low pitches, apply lap tape along the overlap for additional weather protection.
  •
  1. End Overlap (Down the Roof Slope)

Required when the roof length exceeds the sheet length.

Typical minimum end laps:

  • 150mm – Roof pitch above 15°
  • 200mm – Roof pitch between 10°–15°
  • 250mm or more – Roof pitch below 10°

Additional guidance:

  • Always place the upper sheet over the lower sheet so water sheds naturally.
  • Use sealant tape between the laps, especially on lower pitches.
  • Fix both sheets securely through the crest into the supporting purlin beneath.
